Famous people of people who started out as failures...

This list includes famous as well as infamous people:

Martin Luther: His father wanted him to be a lawyer or a merchant. Instead he pursued a religious career to the anger of his family. He lived an austure life until he posted his now famous Theses on the door of Wuttenburg Cathedral, sparking the protestent revolution.

Wolfgang Armedeus Mozart: Though a child prodegy whose music is still loved today, Mozart was shunned by aristocracy and he lived much of his adult life in poverty. He died in his 30s and was buried in a paupers grave. Only after his death was he given his due respect.

Guilipse Verdi: Concidered by many to be the greatest Operetic Composer, He was rejected for study in Millian's famous La Traviata Music School because of his age (he was too old). His early carreer saw him struggling for recognition.

Ulyses S Grant: The Civil War Commander and US President retired from a mediocore millitary career following the Mexican War. He became a serious drinker and failed at a number of business enterprises. Before the Civil War he earned a living selling firewood in New York.

Abraham Lincoln. Thought elected as a Whig Congressman, this self educated lawyer and onetime Militia officer had few other successes in life. He ran for the US Senate agains Stephen Douglas but was bitterly defeated.

Thomas Edison: As a child he was gifted but was too disruptive for his school. As a result he was forced to leave school and his formal education ended at an early age. Those who knew him concidered his crackpot ideas to be "crazy". His invention of the light bulb proved everyone wrong.

Jan Paderewski: Still acknowledged as the greatest Pianist of all times. Was rejected for education as a concert pianist. At the age of 18 was forced to relearn piano technique as if he were a child. By his mid 20s he was finally brought to the stage. One footnote, in 1920 he was elected as Modern Poland's first president in his 80's.

Ludwig Mies Van De Roh: The German Architect who brought the Bauhaus School to America came from extremely humble circumstances. He worked as a bricklayer and stonemason. He later became an archictectural draftsman and eventually joined the Bauhaus. His work was largely rejected in Germany where it was concidered too revolutionary. Was forced to leave by the Nazi's in the 1930s.

Vladimir Illianovich Lenin: Spent many years in prison. Was forced to leave Russia and lived penniless in Switzerland. Only through the genorocity of the Imperial German Govenment was he able to return to Russia to start the Bolshivik Revolution.

Adolph Hitler: Comming from humble backgrounds, this Austrian Peasant worked as a construction worker but was fired by bosses after other workers refused to work with him. He was homeless and impoverished. He barely survived as a poster artist. His attempts to enter art school failed. When World War 1 came, he was rejected as unfit by the Austrian Army. He did manage to join the German Army but never rose above Corporal.

Richard M. Nixon: His political career nearly came to an end after he was defeated for reelection as Governer of California. He later ran for President against John F Kennedy but lost. It was thought that Nixon seemed too stuffy next to the energetic and charismatic Kennedy. This too nearly stopped his career.

DONT OUIT !

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
when the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile but you have to sigh,
when care is pressing you down a bit - rest if you must,
but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about when he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow - you may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than it seems to a faint and faltering man;
often the struggler has given up when he might have captured the victor's cup;
and he learned too late when the night came down,
how close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out - the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and when you never can tell how close you are,
it may be near when it seems afar;
so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit - it's when things seem worst,
you must not quit.

A Success Poem To Keep You Motivated...

Begin The Day
By Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Begin each morning with a talk to God,
And ask for your divine inheritance
Of usefulness, contentment, and success.
Resign all fear, all doubt, and all despair.
The stars doubt not, and they are undismayed,
Though whirled through space for countless centuries,
And told not why or wherefore: and the sea
With everlasting ebb and flow obeys,
And leaves the purpose with the unseen Cause.
The star sheds its radiance on a million worlds,
The sea is prodigal with waves, and yet
No lustre from the star is lost, and not
One dropp missing from the ocean tides.
Oh! brother to the star and sea, know all
God’s opulence is held in trust for those
Who wait serenely and who work in faith.

LIFE IS...
by Mother Theresa

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.

Life is beauty, admire it.

Life is a dream, realize it.

Life is a challenge, meet it.

Life is a duty, complete it.

Life is a game, play it.

Life is a promise, fulfill it.

Life is sorrow, overcome it.

Life is a song, sing it.

Life is a struggle, accept it.

Life is a tragedy, confront it.

Life is an adventure, dare it.

Life is luck, make it.

Life is too precious, do not destroy it.

Life is life, fight for it.

THEY DO WHAT THEY LIKE TO DO ....dated 1921

"People will not only do what they like to do--they overdo it 100 per cent. Most people overeat 100 per cent, and oversleep 100 per cent, because they like it. That extra 100 per cent makes them unhealthy and inefficient. The person who sleeps eight or ten hours a night is never fully asleep and never fully awake--they have only different degrees of doze through the twenty-four hours. Most people seem to think they must eat until they are no longer hungry. Most of their energies are taken up in digesting what they eat. I see what people eat and for myself half as much is enough.

For myself I never found need of more than four or five hours' sleep in the twenty-four. I never dream. It's real sleep. When by chance I have taken more I wake dull and indolent. We are always hearing people talk about "loss of sleep" as a calamity. They better call it loss of time, vitality and opportunities. Just to satisfy my curiosity I have gone through files of the British Medical Journal and could not find a single case reported of anybody being hurt by loss of sleep. Insomnia is different entirely--but some people think they have insomnia if they can sleep only ten hours every night."

I Am Worthless

am a complete failure, people tell me its not my fault but want do they know. See I am 39 years old and I really don't know what love is. I will start from the beginning I love my dad but he beat me because he was unhappy with my mom, my mom had a hard life and seem to take it out on me. I wanted so much for someone to love me that I was willing to do anything to find love. And what did that get me? Everyone I loved and tired to give my love too, left me or used me or abused me in one way or the other. when I was 17 I moved 100 miles away from home to take care of my grandmother after my grandfather passed away, thinking to myself that I finally found some reason for my life. Grandpa was gone and grandma needed someone to help her, but she was standoffish and tried to handle everything by herself. "She needed know one so she thought" . I finally found someone that really wanted me we will call him E. And after two weeks of us knowing each other he told me that he wanted to marry me. He said he was looking for me his whole life. And like a stupid B____ I believe him. So we married after only 3 months. I was amazed at this, someone that loved me and thought I was something special. We were only together 2 years and expecting our 1st son when he decided I wasn't Worth s--- . when We were only married 3 years And I was pageant with our twins he was sleeping with my 15 year old sister while I was in and out of the hospital trying to keep our twins in long enough for them to be healthy. but i request since then He has had so many affairs that I'm afraid to count. We have been together for 21 years now, and within the 21 years he has sleeped with my sister, my sister-in-law, my friend, and an mutual friend of ours, and now after all this our child now age 19 and 1/2 thinks that there is no relationship that is worth a risk, our 17 year old twin son thinks that love is all about how many girls he can go to bed with, and our 17 year old girl twin thinks that a guy can only love them if the guy lays down and let her walk all over him. So yea I m BIG FAILURE I FAIL everyone I love. And don't even know why God keeps me around.

Iam Completely Failure In Love

Hi friends!

I am an engineering student and this story tells u that how a man should not be a saddist to a girl and also not to play with her feelings. I know there will be some mistakes in my English but any how i wanted to share...

During my teen of 18 there was a girl opposite to my uncles house ,her house is at her terrace though they lived and living in a single room,i and my friends use to be in my uncles terrace often, i use to see that girl daily studying and one day i and my friend kept a bet that who is gonna be a friend with that girl..We wre showing our hands together for a week n after a week she got fixed to me and my friend was angry on me and one day he proposed that girl in my name , finally she accepted to love me and this matter came to me after a month i shouted at my friends that she is a good girl....For 2 years i din have a touch with her because of my studies and i stopped goin to my uncles house often and when ever i go there i use to see that girl purchasing in a provision shop just a smile she use to give and even i ... In between gap of my first year college one girl loved me and even i did the same after she proposed , she left me at the end of my first year i was totally depressed..I came out fo that depression after few months .In that time one of my friend near my uncles house gave my mobile number to that girl who stayed in the opposite terrace form the time she called i was loving her only for the time pass and her love is dam true on me , she use to message me at night in a descent manner but i spoiled her by teaching about all the sexuall activities..First time i kissed her near her home side , she did all the activities thinking me as her husband and i did all the activities thinking her as a worker with fake love(See what a character i am) i use to take her out not for entertainment but for using her like a worker.. Many times i use to leave her by telling her that iam in a problem, i cant marry u anymore and also i use to change my mobile numbers to avoid her without no reason... And also again and again even after changing the number i use to approach her when ever i get into that sexuall feel,i use to tease her often and made her to cry many times ..She cried many times but i wont be bothering..And this year 2009 feb i started to love her sincerly even she knows that at the same time i use to tease her and behaved like a saddist..Again i thought to leave her without no reason and started to avoid her slowly in the month of june that is during my B.E completion again i changed my number and used the old number rarely to talk with her ..A week before joining M.E that is on 27th july evening i called her from my old number inorder to tell that i have joined M.E. But her voice was low and she created a distance with me, i asked her the reason but she replied that she has a problem and cant narrate it now . I have started calling her often after joining my M.E. but she maintained the same distance i got tensed and scolded her a lot with abusing words that is on her birthday july 31st even i dont know her birth date but for the past 4 years she use to wish me correctly on my birthday..After her birthday also i used to call her often but she never answered my call there started a pain in me and i became mad on her i cried many times to her but she never turned to me, one fine monday i was sitting in the class and started to cry ,my friends adviced me to cut the class and to go and met her.I did according to their advice and went to her area but i cant able to talk though people are strict in that area and also i informed her that i am coming to meet her ,she said no and finally i convinced her .She got down from her college bus ,walked slowly according to my wish ,waited at the street ends for few seconds she saw me and then she went to her home...In that evening i called her she attened my call i was begging and crying to her like anything she said that she doesnt want to suffer again and also she has problem in her college and also in her home, she also said that she doesnt want to tell anything at present and finally she said that her past made her to change , she dont want anything she said... I cried to her a lot but finally she said that " first concentrate on your studies and then we will decide our future"(see how selfish am i) thats what she told that "How selfish u r ? u need me to talk and love u like before and you wont be seeing my situations and the only thing is your problem should be solved" And finally i came to a conclusion and told her that i have understood all u said but i will be waiting for you and i know you wont leave me.. That was my last call to her on monday. After that i din disturb her for a week but i had that pain it became serious and made me to attempt sucide in my college because i cant able to bare the pain each and every second it was a hell time for me one of my friend saw my attempt gave me a slap.Every body adviced me after that sequence even my friends near my uncles house.. They told me to leave her though she dosnt suits for me , her family is worst except her and also her elder sister ran away from her home regarding love, her father is very strict and he wont accept...I thought deeply about my family and also her family it wont suit . My family will accept my love though i dont have father my mom is the only person for me and because of her i am living a rich and luxurious life, If i marry that girl my mom will be feeling inside and especially my society will see me as a joker and it will automatically separate us.. I thought these things and prepared to leave her ... Even now she is keep on rolling in my mind, i feel the pain all the time and i use to get up in the morning with the pain ..I have realized a lot and lot and i am trying to become a good person now..God thought me a good lession even though i worship him..Hereafter i wont disturb that girl and i know she still loves me but she controlls her self but one day she will come again i know but i will advice her truely to concentrate on her studies...Even know i can make that girl to change her mind to me but if our love continues deelpy we cant able to face the consequences though i mentioned before and this is the right chance for me to leave her...Its all my mistake and i am responsible for all and thats what i am suffering now......

With pain

Everything But Happiness

I met this girl in 3rd year of engineering college.i met through one of my friends,on a bday party.we both talked a lot .then after few days i met her when i was thrown out of class and she was coming towards the canteen.we both sat and talked for some time. we exchanged numbers and then we started meeting more often.then she told me about her past relationship and how it ended, her secret crush in college, her daily activities and all.we were always in touch either through sms, calls or simply with each other. it took time 4 me to realise that i am in love with her.then finally a day came when i told her everything .i was shocked to listen that previous day her ex called up to patch things and she was interested ...i was hurt but couldnt do anything.then i was surprised to get a call from her and she was again goin the normal way. she told i am a very good friend of hers. i didnt want to break her trust. there was fights between them and she used to tell me everything. i tried to convince her that such fights are very common and thgs ll be fine.thngs used tp oatch up and she was happy again.then one day she told that she wanted to book a train ticket but couldnt go because her boyfriend gave her a surprise visit. i booked tickets 4 her.then while giving tickets she happily told me that she got her first kiss and her first make out.i was again hurt but couldnt let my emotions come to my face . things used to be like that for 3 months untill when i saw her boyfriend drunk and talking crap about her.i told it after proper confirmation .she was hurt and i felt bad.the next day she told that she has left him forever and she doesnt want to fall into relationship. i could understand what she was goin through .we used to meet as usual and i helped her whenever she needed me.things used to go like this for a year when another guy asked her out. she told no but since both were good friends since school days ,she talked to him too. untill one day when he came to the coll,he took her out for a movie where he gave her a gift, and she said yes to him . that was the end of my patience when i went to her and told her what i did 4 her and what she did 2 me...and since then she is not talking to me...

an advice to whole world: never be a support to any girl unless she is urs

“My great concern is not whether you have failed, but whether you are content with your failure.” – Abraham Lincoln

Failure can either break us or make us. Those broken by failure are haunted by unpleasant memories. These memories are like shadows that lurk in front, behind, beside, beneath and above. It is also a cage that traps the mind, preventing it to entertain possibilities of freedom and success. They are convinced that they cannot do it; therefore, they will not try.

For those that failure could not break are those who became made “men.” Failure to them is not a ghost, but a friend who taught them well. It is also a stepping stone to wisdom. These men and women are convinced that true failure only happens when one gives up.

History has been kind to President Abraham Lincoln. He has been painted as probably the greatest president of the United States of America. It is the good thing that history also recorded his failures. It reflected his frail humanity but also showed his attitude of never giving up.

These failures could not stop him, he kept moving forward. The following is a short list of his ups and downs and ups.

*1831 – Failed in business
1832 – Defeated for legislature
1833 – Again failed in business
1834 – Elected to legislature
1835 – Sweetheart died
1836 – Had a nervous breakdown
1838 – Defeated for speaker
1840 – Defeated for elector
1843 – Defeated for Congress
1846 – Elected for Congress
1848 – Defeated for Congress
1855 – Defeated for Senate
1856 – Defeated for Vice-President
1858 – Defeated for Senate
1860 – ELECTED PRESIDENT

He was defeated more times than he won, but that did not mean he was a failure. Remember, that failures are only permanent if we stop trying. I believe the only real failure is the failure not to move on.

the only way
to deal with failure
is to learn from it
and move on

———————————————————————————————-

A simple highway to success is to fail and learn ......

EVERY SUCCESS STORY IS ALSO A STORY OF GREAT FAILURE

Generally Failure is the initial step to success. Failure is road to success. History tells us that the people whose stories seem to us successful are also stories of some of the biggest failures. There are two side of coin “Head and Tail” same is with life “Success and Failure”. Generally people only see only the success part of story and not failure part of story. Many people think successful person had “luck by chance”, that is he must be at right place at right time. There was a man whose business crashed when he was 21 years old. He then contested for legislative race but was defeated, he was then 22. He then worked and did business for two years but was again failed. He lost his sweetheart and got nervous breakdown at the age of 27. After seven years when he was 34 he lost a congressional race. At an age of 46 he contested for senatorial race and was defeated. He then attempted for becoming vice-president at 47 but his effort failed. He again contested for senatorial race at 49 and was defeated. But at last of all those failure he was elected as a president of the United States at that time he was 52. That famous personality was Abraham Lincoln. There was a man who was charged and publicly humiliated by district attorney, for doing fraud and misleading the public into buying his company stocks. He mislead people by a mere claim that he could transmit human voice across Atlantic ocean. He then went on to invent triode tubes his name was Lee De Forest.

New York Times questioned Wright Brothers because they were working on a machine that could fly. After a lot of failure and hardships they went on to invent a machine that could fly. That machine was aeroplane.

Walt Disney in his earlier career went for many interviews to newspapers editors but they disqualified him saying that he had no talent. He then worked for the minister, he was told to draw funny pictures and cartoons. He suddenly saw a small mouse roaming here and there and this gave him the idea of Mickey Mouse.

Successful people don't do different things; they do things differently. Thomas Edison as a student had only three months of schooling. He sold newspapers to earn his living. He was trying to invent bulb but failed approximately 1000 times. When he finally invented bulb, he was asked what he learnt from his failures. He replied each times of his failure (999 times) he learnt that at least you cannot invent bulb with the previous attempt.

At age 67, due to fire his few million dollars factory burnt up. His lifetime work and great effort went up in smoke. He then went on to invent phonograph. All success stories are stories of great failures. Once a famous and successful personality said, “If you want to get success, then increase your failure rate”.
